                        Revision 97Dec08

Welcome to MWI! The MWI.EXE program is started in MS-DOS by
entering MWI on the command line. Operation of this menu-driven
program is intended to be simple and one should be able to
operate all features simply by experimentation. If you have
problems or comments for improvement I will appreciate hearing
from you.

Thanks to David C. Cook, Hughes, Tucson, AZ, who found a problem
with the stripline edgewise coupler results in our product
literature item RT3.4.1 that turned out to be in the argument for
the complete elliptic integral of the first kind. We had been
using the modulus m instead of k. This was fixed in version
97Dec08.

The screen display (menu) shows shows several items. Each item
that may be changed will have a highlighted character. Some
items cannot be changed directly by the user but are changed when
other items are changed. One may act on a menu item by pressing
the key for the highlighted character. Always one item appears
with reversed highlighting and one may act on it by pressing the
ENTER key. This reversed highlighting may be moved from one item
to another with the arrow keys or with CTRL-S, CTRL-X, CTRL-D,
CTRL-E combination key strokes.

MWI will produce DOS output files that may be imported into a
document file with WordPerfect 5.1 or higher. Output files are
automatically date-named with an extension that assures they will
not replace any existing files on your default directory.

There are two hidden features in MWI.

1. Once you have stored MWI.EXE on a drive and directory in
your computer system, you may use its self-installation
feature to adjust the color or shading selections for the
menu displays. To operate this enter MWI INSTALL on the DOS
command line. Then follow the instructions in the
installation menu. Changes you make may be stored into the
MWI.EXE file so they will be there the next time MWI is
     called.

The installation routine can also be operated as a selection
     in the Other menu.

2. If your DOS command line is entered as MWI ALTF then a
special output file in WordPerfect 5.1 format called
SCRNDUMP.MWI is started. While MWI is running, each time
you press ALT-F the exact contents of the screen will be
converted, framed with a double line and added as a page to
the SCRNDUMP.MWI file. Be careful, this can generate a
     large file quickly.

This feature is more for the program author than for the
user. The M and V options on the main menu offer a better
way to get results into an output file. M and V options
appear only when appropriate. See below.

Added Main Menu Key Options V and M concern tabulation of menu
changes:

V to add a column of menu parameter values to a table being
constructed. This option only appears if the current
parameters differ from what was previous added or if the
next column to add is the first.

M to move the constructed table from memory to the prenamed
DOS output file. This option only appears when 1 or more
columns of parameters are in the table. When the table is
moved to the file it is cleared from memory. Other
conditions that cause the table memory move to occur
      automatically include:

The number of columns is all that would fit across a
10.5 inch width between margins at 16.7 character/inch
         pitch.

The column about to be added is for a change in the P, D
         or U options.

The X option to exit MWI is keyed.

The Other feature menu now includes 6 keystroke options.

O to toggle between outputs of R, W or L to screen or DOS
      output file.

R for text giving references for formulas used in MWI.

W for tabulation of stepwise parameter increments suitable
for curve plotting. What's available is limited for now.

L for linear expansion data for five RT/duroid grades taken
from data sheets, optionally including temperatures for
      interpolation.

I Install program without using INSTALL parameter on the
      command line.

   M return to main menu.

I plan to add more capabilities and features to MWI as time is
available and suggestions are received.
