SoutheastCon is hosted annually by IEEE Region 3, and consists of three concurrent programs. One part is a professional technical paper conference of general topic technical papers featuring authors from around the globe. A second part is a Region 3 administrative meeting of IEEE volunteers that will gather to discuss, develop, and implement both new and existing initiatives to better serve the regionís IEEE members. The third aspect of the conference focuses on the regionís IEEE student branches from universities throughout Region 3. It involves a paper competition, a software competition, a hardware robotic competition, a website design competition, and a T-shirt design competition. These competitions attract some of the best and brightest engineering and computer science students from across the Southeast and Jamaica.
In addition to these three parts, SoutheastCon 2009 will also offer several tutorials as continuing education opportunities.
