For those that think it doesn¡¯t matter who¡¯s in net for the Blackhawks let me remind you of one name, Cristobal Huet. The Blackhawks had to park him at the end of the bench halfway through the 2010 season because he stopped doing what was needed and started having a neck strain from looking at all the pucks hitting the back of the net. Crawford is solid night in Jeremy Roenick Womens Jersey and night out and he¡¯s one of the reasons the Blackhawks have a great chance at repeating their Stanley Cup Championship. He may not be great but he¡¯s Mr. Consistent and Blackhawks fan should have a lot of pride knowing that he¡¯s going to go down as one of the best goalies in Blackhawks history.

The Blackhawks in their current state of affairs don¡¯t need a superstar goalie to win the Stanley Cup. The Blackhawks have won the Cup with Antti Niemi and Corey Crawford in net, and while Niemi was a one year fling Crawford after signing a long-term deal appears to be here for the long haul. Not likely for the newlyweds, Carrie and Rob Krolak! The bride wore Blackhawk high heels with her dress, and the Krolaks held their reception in a Super Suite at the United Center for a game vs. the Carolina Hurricanes. But the kicker came during warm-ups when Patrick Sharp noticed the couple posing for photographs in the penalty box and the forward skated over for a photobomb: The Canadiens have won three straight and six of their past seven games, pushing them two points ahead of Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic Division. However, the Lightning, Keith Magnuson Authentic Jersey who host the New York Islanders on Thursday, do hold two games in hand over the Habs.

Detroit, meanwhile, enters Thursday as one of four teams tied for the last two playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. With 80 points, the Red Wings are seven in back of Tampa Bay for last of the Atlantic Division's three automatic playoff berths, meaning they'll likely need to claim one of the East's two wild cards to qualify for a 23rd straight postseason.Columbus, Detroit, Toronto and Washington each have 80 points, but the Red Wings are the only team of that group in action on Thursday. The Blue Jackets and Red Wings have 10 games remaining in their regular-season schedules, while the Capitals and Maple Leafs have nine and eight games left, respectively. Montreal picked up its third straight win in Tuesday's home meeting against the lowly Buffalo Sabres. Max Pacioretty broke a scoreless deadlock with 9:07 to play and Carey Price posted a 24-save shutout to Tomas Plekanec Red Jersey lift the Canadiens to the 2-0 win over the basement-dwelling Sabres.Danny Briere added an insurance marker with Montreal on the power play at 16:54 of the third, while Price stood tall down the stretch to help kill off a late Canadiens penalty and secure his fifth shutout of the season and 24th of his career."The goal is to make the playoffs," Briere remarked. "We're in control of our destiny and trying to rack up as many points as we can."The Canadiens won despite playing without forwards Travis Moen and Dale Weise, who were injured on the same shift in Monday's 2-1 shootout win in Boston.Detroit, which will try to halt a two-game slide on Thursday, hasn't missed the playoffs since 1990. The same country that produces gold medal-winning Olympic hockey teams for fun appears to be incapable of stopping the southward migration of excellence that has resulted in 19 consecutive Stanley Cups won by U.S.-based teams ¡ª and anyone who thinks it¡¯s not going to be 20 come June is overlooking the following American clubs that would beat any Canadian challenger like the proverbial rented mule: St. Louis, Chicago, Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Not that there couldn¡¯t be an upset.

Montrealers will point to the Habs¡¯ 2-1 shootout win in Beantown on Monday as evidence that the Bruins would have their hands full if those teams met in the post-season, NHL Power Rankings: Flyers crack the top 20 which could happen in the second round. So there¡¯s that. But the optimism ends there. On January 25, our last visit to the Pit of Despair, we reckoned that three Canadian teams were in the NHL¡¯s second division, and four in the third. Or four and three. Ottawa was sort of alternating between the two. Now, it¡¯s pretty much two and five. And we¡¯re not sure about Toronto.
