Runblogger Forum member Michael recently posted a video of Asics that features the Super Asics running shoes J33 . The J33 is a kind of super version of Lyte33 Gel, a Nike Free Run 3 womens Hot Pink shoe that I really like stability. I bought Super J33 , as well as a review, but have not had the opportunity to drive itself ( this winter has killed my miles road shoes).
The video is interesting because it compares a guy running both barefoot and with Nike Free Run 3 womens Purple shoes Super J33 on a path lab. Asics describes the shoe as a "natural running shoes for overpronators " and claim about 45 % of the runners and overpronators and how overpronating can put more pressure on the muscles and ligaments . When I see statements like this pronation , my immediate reaction is to refer to this excellent post by Ian Griffiths podiatrist who writes :
" ... The term" pronation " is neither accurate nor meaningful descriptive and should be deleted from modern usage in both the layman and the medical community. "
I accept .
I think this shoe allows you to run naturally less likely ugly, what really needs to be fixed so that you are running a little less natural.
Oh, and the shoe also seems to alter your natural foot strike as well (provided the race with natural remedies that runs as you do when you're barefoot ) :
In fact , the video is pretty cool that it shows how things can change in truth, when you go barefoot for shoes and shoe making influence gait. He also seems to be less prone corridor where the shoe (hard to say without using bone pins from eversion estimates based on external indicators are not reliable) , but I would ask if this is necessarily a good thing ?
I am not opposed to the idea of a stabillity shoes, and I think to reduce pronation can be a positive thing in the management of certain injuries (especially if the shoe causes excessive pronation ) . My guess is that I will enjoy driving in the Super J33 . But as Ian Griffiths always like to point out pronation is not a diagnosis. Is not that something to be controlled at all costs. Sometimes you can control how your body wants to move to be as problematic as trying to get him to change the way we think it should . I hoped we had exceeded this with the science that has come along in recent years , but apparently not . The controversy continues ...
